Blue Mountains Weekend Adventure

Join us for a 2-day guided trek in the spectacular Wild Dogs Area of the Blue Mountains on 28th/29th April or on 19th/20th May!

Take part in a real adventure as you hike through pure, remote, wilderness rich in rainforest, eucalypts and sheer sandstone cliffs and come back to Sydney feeling trim, relaxed and refreshed!

Accommodation: Camping in Blue Mountains wilderness area

Food: Lunch x 2, Dinner x 1, Breakfast x 1, Refreshments (organic, wholefood, nutritious meals)

Preparation: Bonus 2-hour Trek Fitness Session on Sunday 22nd April (8.30 – 10.30 am)

Fitness Levels

We cover 29kms in two days (approx 5-6 hours trekking each day), All clients carry an overnight 60-litre pack with camping equipment and food is shared amongst the group (pack weight is approx 12-15kgs). Agility and fitness required (speak to us if you want to know whether this is suitable for you). Some uneven track surfaces and river crossings.

Guides and Safety

You will be guided by PrimalFit trainers Alex Shirley and Amanda Morrison who are both experienced and qualified bushwalking guides. In addition, they are both trained in remote/senior first aid and carry personal locator beacons. Alex and Amanda will enjoy talking to you about training and living the way that nature intended on this real-time primal expedition!

What to Take

Weather in the Blue Mountains is changeable and we can experience extremely cold weather at any time of year. It is necessary to have warm clothing. Jeans and cotton clothing are not suitable for hiking.

Essential Items
  • hiking boots
  • backpack (at least 60 litres capacity)
  • backpack liner (strong plastic bag)
  • 3-season sleeping bag
  • tent (available for hire)
  • therm-a-rest sleeping mat (available for hire)
  • waterproof raincoat (Gore-tex or similar)
  • warm fleece/wool jersey (not cotton)
  • shorts for hiking
  • polypro/thermals – top & long-johns
  • 2 pairs of socks (they get wet)
  • warm hat or balaclava
  • sunscreen and sunglasses
  • drink bottles (2 litres)
  • spare shoes or sandals
  • flashlight/head lamp
  • insect repellent
  • spare set of clothes

Optional items: Gaiters, binoculars, gloves/mittens, earplugs, walking poles, camera.

We supply: cooking equipment, plates/cutlery, first aid kit, safety equipment and maps.

Equipment Hire: We have high quality tents and inflatable mattresses available for hire. Please arrange hire gear when you book.

Transport

You will need to arrange your own vehicle to the Blue Mountains for this expedition. Please speak to us if you would like to be put in contact with another person to share transport.

Food

All the meals as indicated above are included in the price. The food is based on nutritious, healthy, organic, wholefood recipes. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Among the group equipment is a portable stove which we will carry on the trek.

Meeting Spot

Please meet at 8.45am on Saturday at 36 Shipley Road, Blackheath. We will then car pool and drive an extra 30 minutes in convoy to the start of the trek.We finish at approximately 5.00pm on Sunday.
