Join us for a 2-day guided trek on Sydney’s stunning Coastal Track on 28th/29th July or on 11th/12th August!

Take part in a spectacular coastal adventure as you hike through pure, remote, wilderness rich in rainforest, unspoilt beaches, tranquil freshwater lagoons, wildflower moors, sheer sandstone cliffs and more… and come back to Sydney feeling trim, relaxed and refreshed!

Accommodation: Camping in Royal National Park Coastal Track wilderness area

Preparation: Bonus 2-hour Trek Fitness Session on Sunday 24th June (8.30 – 10.30 am)

Fitness Levels

We cover 26kms in two days (approx 5-6 hours trekking each day). You can choose to carry your gear (pack weight is approx 12-15kgs), or we’ll transport it for you to our tranquil campsite. Medium level walk – agility and fitness required (speak to us if you want to know whether this is suitable for you). Some uneven track surfaces.

Guides and Safety

You will be guided by PrimalFit trainers Alex Shirley and Amanda Morrison who are both experienced and qualified bushwalking guides. In addition, they are both trained in remote area first aid and carry personal locator beacons. Alex and Amanda will enjoy talking to you about training and living the way that nature intended on this real-time primal expedition!

What to Take

Weather on the Coastal Track can be changeable and we can experience extremely cold weather at any time of year. It is necessary to have warm clothing. Jeans and cotton clothing are not suitable for hiking.

Essential Items
  • hiking boots
  • backpack (at least 60 litres capacity)
  • backpack liner (strong plastic bag)
  • 3-season sleeping bag
  • waterproof raincoat (Gore-tex or similar)
  • warm fleece/wool jersey (not cotton)
  • shorts for hiking
  • polypro/thermals – top & long-johns
  • 2 pairs of socks (they get wet)
  • warm hat or balaclava
  • sunscreen and sunglasses
  • drink bottles (2 litres)
  • spare shoes or sandals
  • flashlight/head lamp
  • insect repellent
  • spare set of clothes
Optional items: Gaiters, binoculars, gloves/mittens, earplugs, walking poles, camera.

We supply: tents, inflatable mattresses,cooking equipment, plates/cutlery, first aid kit, safety equipment and maps.

Transport

You will need to arrange your own transport to Bundeena for this expedition. Please speak to us if you would like to be put in contact with another person to share transport. At the end of the trek you will be transported back to Bundeena by a private mini-bus.

Food

All the meals as indicated above are included in the price. The food is based on nutritious, healthy, organic, wholefood recipes. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Among the group equipment is a portable stove which we will carry on the trek.

Meeting Spot

Please meet at 8.30 am on Saturday at Beachcomber Avenue, Bundeena. We finish late afternoon on Sunday at Otford and will transfer you back to your car at Bundeena with a private mini-bus.

Booking Conditions

A deposit of $100 per person is required to secure your place.
Full payment is required 6 weeks before the date of your trek.

Cancellations

42 days and over – Loss of deposit
41 to 10 days – 50% of tour fare
Less than 10 days – 100% cancellation fee

Weather Conditions:

Activities will normally operate in all but exceptional weather conditions. Conditions such as fog, mist, drizzle, showers, rain, sleet and windy conditions do not affect normal operation of our activities.

Medical Conditions

When you book you must notify us of any medical condition, medical history, or medications that you are on. In particular, asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, allergies to wasp/ bee stings and food allergies.

Client Responsibilities

With any outdoor activity, there is an element of risk. PrimalFit operates in remote and mountainous areas. Risks in undertaking this activity could include hypothermia due to adverse weather conditions, personal injury, or property damage from hiking over rugged and uneven terrain.

The staff and management of PrimalFit take all practicable steps to identify and minimise potential dangers. However you must follow our instructions (and use the safety equipment provided) at all times. Adults accompanying any person under the age of 18 must ensure that the underage person follows our instructions at all times. You must release or indemnify PrimalFit and our staff against any liability we incur to anyone else, resulting from your failure to follow our instructions or the failure of any person accompanying you under the age of 18 to follow our instructions.

PrimalFit and their guides reserve the right to make any alterations to the itinerary in the interest of safety, comfort or unforeseen circumstances due to causes such as weather, illness, or misadventure. Every reasonable endeavour will be made to keep to published schedules but no guarantee is given. PrimalFit will not be held liable for costs incurred by change, delay, or the missing of connecting services.

PrimalFit reserves the right to exclude a person from a tour at anytime if in the opinion of the guide or operator that person may be likely to risk the health, safety or comfort (including unsociable behaviour) of other clients, him or herself, or the environment. In such circumstances PrimalFit will not be obliged to offer any refund or transfer of ticket.
